Hands typing on a keyboardRevision is an essential step in the translation process. It involves checking for transfer and language errors in a translated document to make sure it matches the original and is easy to read. The translator can perform this step on their own or they can hire a reviser to do it.

Although self-revision is quick and convenient, hiring a second pair of eyes greatly minimizes the risk of mistakes being overlooked and ensures a quality end-product.

At Brooke Ramos Dickson Language Services, we offer professional revision for French to English translations. Our goal is to help businesses and freelance translators produce clear, accurate translations that sound natural and are tailored to their intended audience.

How It Works

  1. Source Text Review: We will ask you to provide us with the English translations you would like to have revised, along with the original French documents. We will then perform a thorough review of the original text, also known as the source text, to gain an understanding of the subject matter and tone.
  2. Bilingual Revision: Once the source text has been reviewed, we will perform a bilingual revision (a side-by-side comparison of the source text and its translation) to check for omissions, additions, and shifts in meaning.
  3. Unilingual Revision: Next, we will perform a unilingual revision (a revision of the translation on its own) to check for unnatural wording and errors in spelling, grammar, or punctuation.
  4. Client Approval and Feedback: You will be sent the revised translation for approval and invited to provide us with any feedback you may have.
